Licence Compliance Kit

Audit what open-source code is inside a product before you sell it, and generate the notice that ships with it.

If you sell software built on open source, two things decide whether you are compliant or infringing: whether your third-party notice is complete, and whether anything copyleft slipped in. One transitive AGPL dependency obliges you to publish the source of the product you are selling.

This tool reads your installed dependency tree, classifies every licence for resale safety, writes the third-party notice, and exits non-zero when something needs a decision — so it gates a release instead of being a thing you remember to do.

It reproduces licence text byte-for-byte, because altering it is exactly what a licence forbids.

What you get

  • Full TypeScript source and a ready command-line tool
  • Four verdicts: permissive, conditions apply, blocked, needs review
  • 39 tests, including compound expressions in both directions
  • GitHub Actions and shell examples for gating a release

Before you buy

This is a digital download of about 28 KB. You will need to be comfortable running commands in a terminal and editing code. Your licence covers unlimited projects, commercial ones included, and modification — but not reselling the source itself. The full licence is in the download.
